Most of my travel to the forest happens during the cold season - not really good for finding snakes, but then again I'm not really complaining too much. To be fair, I'd love to see some snakes, just to know which ones are present. I just would like to control the meeting time and place with some fair warning so nobody gets hurt.
The January 2009 issue of Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine features an article about Craig Rudolph's work to document the presence of the Louisiana Pine Snake in nearby Boykin Springs. I would love to meet Mr. Rudolph and join him for a field trip to learn more about these snakes. I'll even haul his gear.
