Only two percent of Texas is rumored to be held in the public hand - the other 98% is private property - but thankfully, the Angelina National Forest is open to all.
I've never done a blog before, perhaps the motivation hasn't been there or haven't had a topic of interest. It's not the Muir Woods or the Tongass or the Adirondacks. Hell, it's in Texas. But it is what it is, and if you spend the time to listen to it closely and watch how it works, it is my hope that you, too, might become a fan of the Angelina National Forest. Through this blog, I'd like to try to share what I have experienced - mostly during my annual hunts for whitetail - and explore, perhaps a bit esoterically sometimes, why it is meaningful to me. And certainly if you are motivated by your own experiences in the Angelina, or maybe something reminds you of an experience you've had in another forest - I'd like to hear it.
